Alpaca Farm Visits

Desert Mountain Alpaca Ranch offers visits daily, excluding holidays, from 9 AM to 4 PM.

Visits include meeting the alpacas, learning about their history, what they eat, understanding crias and the alpaca reproduction, and why alpaca farming is an industry that is growing. Best of all is learning about the alpaca fiber and all that is made from it. The tour ends in the ranch store where visitors can purchase anything from coats, sweaters, hats, gloves, teddy bears, and so much more!

There is no charge for visits. Visits last anywhere from a half hour to several hours depending on the visitor’s time schedule.

To book your farm visit please contact Janice or call 520-220-2778

Things to remember when coming out to Desert Mountain Alpaca Ranch: suitable clothing for walking outdoors and a camera.

Vincenzo and Donatella, two of our working maremma livestock guardian dogs, will greet you when you arrive. They will bark, but don’t worry. They are friendly. You will also get to see Santino and Gianna, the other two livestock guardian dogs. Depending on the time of year you might get to see a litter of pups, too.

Since we do have livestock guardian dogs, we do ask that you keep your dogs at home.

We hope to see you soon!
